CutFlux Terms of Service
Oct 10, 2026 · @CutFlux
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and CutFlux ("CutFlux", "we", "us"), and they govern your use of CutFlux, our video editing software.
CutFlux currently includes the CutFlux web editor at "cutflux.com". We also plan to release a desktop application, and these Terms will apply to it once it is available. Together with Cloud Space storage, team features and any related websites, apps, APIs and support, these are the "Services".
By creating an account or using the Services in any way, you confirm that you can form a binding contract with us and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into them. If you use the Services for a business or team, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business, and "you" includes it. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Unofficial copies of CutFlux obtained from sources other than our official website or authorized app stores are not authorized by us, and we are not responsible for them.
2. Eligibility and Your Account
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use them only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who should read these Terms with you. Some countries set a higher minimum age, and where they do, that age applies.
To use most features you must create an account. You agree to provide true, accurate and current information and to keep it updated. Keep your login details confidential, and tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect anyone else has accessed your account.
You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may monitor activity but are not obliged to, and we are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized access to your account.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting [email protected]. Deletion is permanent: we cannot restore the account, your Space or any content in it.
3. Your Space, Plans and Storage
When you create an account, CutFlux gives you one Space. A Space is your cloud storage area for projects, drafts, media and other files. Every Space starts as a Free Space and can be upgraded to a Pro Space or a Team Space.
| Plan | Space type | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free Space | 5 GB |
| Pro | Pro Space | 100 GB |
| Team | Team Space | 1 TB |
When you upgrade, your Space's capacity increases to that of the new plan. You may not use more storage than your plan allows. We may change plan features, limits and prices; where we do, we will tell you in advance and, unless the law says otherwise, changes will not affect a paid period you have already bought.
If your paid plan ends or is cancelled, your Space returns to the Free Space limit of 5 GB at the end of the paid period. If your content then exceeds that limit, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you in advance. You must download or back up the excess content within the period we give you, or we may restrict uploads, suspend access to that content or delete it.
We do not promise to provide free storage indefinitely and may change, reduce or suspend it, with notice where reasonably possible. Always keep your own backups of content you value. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of content stored in a Space.
4. Payments, Renewal, Cancellation and No-Refund Policy
Pro and Team plans are paid plans. Prices, billing intervals and features are shown on the purchase page when you subscribe. Unless it says otherwise, listed prices exclude applicable taxes, which we may add. If payment fails, we may suspend or end your access to the paid features.
Paid plans renew automatically for a period equal to your previous term, and we charge your payment method at the start of each term, until you cancel. You agree that we, or our payment processor, may store your payment method and keep billing it for this purpose. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the current term ends. You can cancel at any time in your account settings.
If you cancel, you keep your paid features until the end of the term you have already paid for, and then your Space returns to the Free Space limit described in Section 3.
No refunds. All payments are final. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial terms, unused time or unused storage, whether you cancel, downgrade or stop using the Services. This does not limit any right to a refund that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived by contract. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days in some cases; where that right applies to you, it is not affected by this section.
We may change prices or plans with advance notice. A price change will not apply to a term you have already paid for, and it will not take effect at renewal unless we have notified you first.
5. Acceptable Use
You must use the Services only as these Terms and the law allow. You may not:
- copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code or algorithms of the Services, except where the law expressly permits it
- sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute the Services, or build them into another product without our written consent
- remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice shown in the Services
- interfere with or disrupt the Services, or bypass any limit, security measure or storage cap
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access the Services, except through an API we provide
- upload or distribute malware, viruses or other harmful code
- impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation
- upload, edit or share content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights
- use the Services to create or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful or discriminatory, that threatens, harasses or bullies anyone, or that encourages violence, crime or self-harm
- create or share sexual content involving minors, or deceptive content (such as deepfakes) designed to mislead people about real individuals
- share your account in a way that exceeds your plan, or resell access to your Space
We may remove or restrict content, and suspend or end accounts, that we reasonably believe breach these Terms, and we may report unlawful activity to the authorities.
6. Your Content and License to CutFlux
"Your Content" means the videos, audio, images, text, projects and other material you upload, create or store using the Services. You own Your Content, and nothing in these Terms changes that.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transcode, display and transmit Your Content, only as needed to operate, secure, support and improve the Services for you. This includes storing it in your Space, rendering previews and exports, and, for a Team Space, making it available to the team members you choose. This license lasts for as long as Your Content is in the Services and for a short period afterwards while it is removed from our backups. We do not use Your Content in our own advertising or promotion without your permission.
You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you own it or have all rights, licenses and permissions needed to upload and use it with the Services, including rights in music, footage, images and the likenesses of people who appear in it. You are responsible for any claim that Your Content infringes someone else's rights.
CutFlux does not review Your Content in advance, but we may remove or block content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law. You can export your projects and download your files from the Services, and we recommend that you keep your own copies.
7. CutFlux Content and Intellectual Property
The Services, including the software, design, code, and the templates, effects, filters, fonts, stickers, sound effects and other materials we provide ("CutFlux Content"), are owned by CutFlux or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. The CutFlux name and logo are our trademarks.
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Services and CutFlux Content to create your own projects, in line with these Terms and any license terms shown with specific content. You may use CutFlux Content in videos you publish, but you may not extract it and redistribute or sell it on its own. Unless a specific item's license says it is cleared for commercial use, you are responsible for checking it before using it commercially.
We do not license any music recordings or musical works through the Services unless we say so for a specific item. You are responsible for getting the rights to any music you add yourself.
We reserve all rights not expressly granted. If you send us feedback or ideas, you agree that we may use them freely without paying you or crediting you.
8. AI Features and Third-Party AI Services
CutFlux includes features powered by artificial intelligence, such as automatic captions, generative effects and AI-assisted editing. Some of these use technology from third-party providers, which may have their own terms. Where a feature is built on a third-party service, you must follow that provider's terms as well as these Terms, and if you do not agree to them you must not use that feature. We do not control third-party AI services and do not make promises about them.
Your inputs and outputs. You must have all rights and permissions needed for anything you give to an AI feature (a prompt, a video, an image, or someone's face or voice), including any consent or release from people who appear in it. Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you own the outputs generated for you from your inputs. Outputs may not be unique, and the same or similar outputs may be generated for others.
Your responsibility. AI outputs can be inaccurate, offensive or similar to existing works. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before you use or publish them, and for making sure your use does not violate anyone's rights or the law. We do not promise that outputs are accurate, lawful or suitable for any purpose.
Prohibited use. In addition to Section 5, you must not use AI features to create content that impersonates a real person in a misleading way, to deceive people, to harass or harm any individual or group, or to produce sexual content involving minors. You must not try to bypass safety filters or limits on these features.
If you tell us you do not want your content used to train or improve our AI features, we will respect that where we offer a setting for it.
9. Team Spaces
A Team Space provides 1 TB of shared storage and lets the account owner create multiple teams and invite members to collaborate. The person who buys the Team Space is the account owner. The owner is responsible for the Team Space, for paying its fees, and for the conduct of every member they invite, as if it were the owner's own.
The owner controls who has access to the Team Space and its content, and may add or remove members. Content that members upload to a Team Space can be seen and managed by the owner and by other members according to the permissions the owner sets.
If the Team Space plan ends or is downgraded, access to the Team Space and its capacity ends at the end of the paid term. As described in Section 3, the owner must download or back up any content before then. We are not liable for loss of team content that was not backed up in time.
If you use a Team Space on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and the organization is bound by them.
10. Copyright Complaints
We respect intellectual property rights and expect you to do the same. If you believe content in the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with:
- your name, address, email and phone number
- the location of the allegedly infringing content, such as a link
- a description of the work you say is infringed, and proof that you own it or are authorized to act for the owner
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner
- your physical or electronic signature
We may remove the content and tell the person who uploaded it, and we may share your notice with them. Consider whether fair use or a similar exception applies before you send a notice, because knowingly false claims can lead to liability. We may suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
11. Third-Party Services, Disclaimers, Liability and Indemnity
Third parties. The Services may link to or work with third-party websites, tools and services. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for them. Your use of them is at your own risk and under their own terms.
Disclaimer. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that they will meet your needs, or that your content will never be lost. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, CutFlux and its affiliates, directors, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, opportunity, content or data, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity. You agree to defend and indemnify CutFlux, its affiliates and their officers, employees and agents against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms or applicable law, or your violation of anyone else's rights.
12. Termination, Changes, Governing Law and Contact
Termination. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account or restrict features if you breach these Terms or the law, if your activity may harm us or other users, if required by law enforcement, for security or technical reasons, or if your account is inactive for a long period. Where reasonably possible, we will notify you first and give you time to save your content. Sections that by their nature should continue, including those on content, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and indemnity, survive termination.
Changes. We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements, and will update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes we will notify you through the Services or by email. If you keep using the Services after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using them.
General. These Terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent, but we may transfer ours as part of a business sale or reorganization.
